FIND Text
With the Find feature in Word 2007, you can locate a specific text. You can also search for special character, such as tabs, page breaks, extra space, line numbers, footnote etc. within a document.
If you want to search for or replace text in only a portion of a document, then select the portion of the text and then follow the general instructions for finding or replacing.

To Find specific text do this :
- Click the Home tab and choose Editing command. Click a drop-down arrow and choose Find command or press Ctrl + F keys together. The Find and replace dialog box appears with the find tab selected.
- In the Find what: text box, type the text you want to search for.
- Click Find Next button. It searches the word given in the Find what: box.
- If you want to highlight the selected word on the screen, click Reading highlight down arrow and click Highlight all. The selected word gets highlighted in the document.
- To remove the highlighted word, select Clear highlighting. It removes the selected word.
- Click Cancel button to close the Find and Replace dialog box.
REPLACING Text
You can replace searched text automatically using replacing text facility in word 2007. You can use the Replace command to search for every occurrence of the incorrect spelling and replace it with the correct version. For example replacing incorrect word document by document.
To Replace Text do this :
- Click the Home tab and choose Editing command. Click a drop-down arrow and choose Replace command or press Ctrl + H keys together. The Find and Replace dialog box appears with the Replace tab selected.
- In the Find what : text box, type the text that you want to replace.
- In the Replace with : text box, type the new text.
- Click the More button to choose from other option if need be.
- Choose the Find Next or Replace All button.
If you want to confirm each change. click Find Next. When Word find an occurrence of the text,click the Replace button to change the text. To change all occurrence of the specified text without confirmation, click the Replace All button.
After closing the find and Replace dialog box, you can repeat the search by pressing Shift + F4 keys.
Using GO TO command
You can move quickly to a location in a document using the GO TO command. For this command, you specify, a page, section, line, footnote, table, headings, etc. For example, you can use the GO TO command with page numbers to move back and forth between pages in a document.You can press Ctrl + G or double-click page on the status bar to display the GO TO tab of the Find and Replace dialog box.
To move forward 5 pages from your current location in the document, do this:
- Click the Home tab and choose Editing command. A drop-down menu appears. Click the GO TO or press Ctrl + G to display the Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box.
- In the Go to what: list box, select page in the Enter page number text box.
- Enter page number namely enter + 5 to move 5 page forward and -5 to move 5 pages back.
- Click (Next or Previous)
- Click Close or press Esc key to close the find and replace dialog box.
